3 Reasons why being a single parent is Amazing

The traditional structures of raising kids together as parents have changed drastically over the past two decades. It’s even a fact that unmarried mothers now give birth to 4 out of 10 children.

Below are 3 amazing reasons why being a single parent is amazing:

  1. When alone, engage in activities you love

Life can get two- dimensional too fast when you are the only one on duty. Endless responsibilities making it hard to balance between work and parenting hence you end up feeling like you’re not doing either of them well.

It’s, therefore, true to say that you need alone time. It’s just as essential as the others. Engage in activities that you love doing before giving birth. Schedule time for them and find a group of people to help you do them.  When you do these activities with others, you are more likely to make them happen.

The other two-dimensions (parenting and work) will become more enjoyable when you feed your soul and you’ll be creating something awesome for your children.

  1. Register your child to get help from child care specialists

There is a saying that goes “it takes a village” especially if you’re a single parent. Quite a number of us don’t stay near extended families neither do we have neighbors who are always available for us. You should, therefore, enroll your kids to child care centers where they’ll get to interact with freely with others. Those centers might end up being his favorite spots and you’ll be surprised that he’ll always be happy even when you’re not around.

  1. Discover your passions, those you both share. (you and your kid)

Paying to be helped with something you love can be expensive and hard. You should, therefore, discover what both you can do be it surfing, riding horses or even playing the guitar.

Although being a single parent literally means sacrificing some time, you can involve your kids, by doing so, you’ll be living a 3-dimensional life.  I assure you that you’ll be more joyful even when faced with difficulties that come with parenting.
